WHO WE ARE
Responsible Fashion is a movement initiated by IFBEC that aims to create a more environmentally and socially conscious approach to the production and consumption of clothing. It is a response to the negative impacts of the fashion industry on the planet and its people, including issues such as water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, worker exploitation and waste generation.
OUR VISION
India to be the Responsible Fashion business capital of the world.
OUR MISSION
Reviving fashion with purpose, our responsible fashion movement fosters awareness about mindful consumption, circularity, renewability and waste reduction to promote environmental and social responsibility. To reduce the burden of fashion waste in the landfills from 43% to 40% by 2026.
Our Commitment to Circularity
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation “more than USD 500 billion of value is lost every year due to clothing underutilization and lack of recycling” with material disposal alone representing a value loss of more than USD 100 billion each year. By taking more sustainable approaches to fashion we can reduce our impact and protect people, animals and the planet. Circularity in fashion has become more than just a choice; it is imperative. The Take-Make-Dispose approach is no longer the way to go. We aim to create awareness among key stakeholders to drive circular approaches, reduce waste, and create closed-loop systems. It’s time to treat Fashion waste as an invaluable resource and contribute towards the rebirth of materials that will otherwise be exiled to towering landfills or incinerators. We support the ideology that fashion does not discard unnecessarily but redesigns, recuperates, recycles in a mindful circular loop.
