To promote circular fashion, we focus on the following principles to create a more responsible fashion industry.
1. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
The first principle of Responsible fashion is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. To stimulate this thought we create awareness amongst consumers (with the help of our Institute partners and Rotaract clubs) to be mindful with the amount of clothing they buy, reuse and repair their clothes, and recycling them when they are no longer wearable in the growing fast fashion by facilitating donation drives.
2. Use sustainable materials
The second principle of sustainable fashion is to use sustainable materials. This means using materials that are renewable, biodegradable, and non-toxic. Sustainable materials include organic cotton, hemp, linen, naturally dyed and recycled fabrics. By using sustainable materials, we can reduce the environmental impact of clothing production and create a more sustainable industry.
3. Support ethical production and encourage transparency:
The third principle of sustainable fashion is to support ethical production. This means ensuring that clothing is produced in a way that is fair to workers and does not exploit them. This includes providing organic farming fair wages, safe working and also encouraging transparency and accountability in the fashion industry. This means encouraging companies to disclose information about their supply chains, production processes, and environmental and social impact. By encouraging transparency and accountability, we hold companies responsible for their actions and create a more sustainable and ethical industry with association with Fair trade India, a certification body.
4. Choose timeless and versatile designs
We work on creating awareness on timeless and versatile designs with pre-production residual and preloved clothes through the active NGOs mentored by established designers and institutes and create a premium shelf space with different brand outlets creating an aspirational value.
5. Consider the entire life cycle of pre-loved clothes.
The fifth principle of Responsible fashion is to create awareness on the entire life cycle of pre-loved clothing on the consumer level. This means creating an awareness about the environmental and social impact of mindful disposal. Where we are encouraged to make more informed decisions about disposing of our clothing, whether they choose to Repurpose/ Resell/ Recycle. And empower them with the right resources to help them take action.
